A Founder’s Perspective
Bowerbird Energy was founded out of a simple frustration: critical facilities were wasting energy, money, and resources, not because solutions didn’t exist, but because no one was accountable for making them work in the real world.
After serving as a Marine and DoD contractor, working in mission-critical environments, Chris Rawlings saw firsthand the importance of disciplined execution, clear objectives, and ownership of outcomes. When he later encountered aging aircraft hangars and industrial facilities operating with outdated systems and unnecessary inefficiencies, it was clear that energy was being treated as an afterthought rather than a strategic asset.
Bowerbird was built to change that. From the beginning, the focus was on applying engineering and construction expertise to solve practical energy problems, reducing waste, improving performance, and delivering solutions that operators could rely on long after installation. That mindset continues to shape how the firm works today: straightforward, technically grounded, and accountable to results.
What matters most to Chris, and to Bowerbird, is doing meaningful work for those who need it most. Work that respects client resources, supports mission-critical operations, and delivers lasting value. That commitment has earned the trust of hundreds of organizations across the commercial, industrial, and federal sectors, and it remains the foundation of the company moving forward.
